Came via an old link, but just to say thanks for a very good and thought provoking read. Liked your comment some way back on online blog ghost towns.
Shame, as there are some very creative communities among bloggers which reinforce others. All the best for the big 40.

Aline Kominsky-Crumb seems like a very nice (actually very fun) lady, and you're right, she is cute, occasionally even sexy (which sort of goes hand in hand with fun), but the best thing about her book is the too few excerpts of her husband's work. Especially funny is the comic strip the Mr and Mrs worked on together.

What I don't appreciate about Oprah is her NEW AGE
Bullshit about looking into yourself to find the truth of the universe. I actually heard her say that
when her Baptist preacher told the congregation that our God was a jealous God - she said "My God is jealous of me?"
Can you believe it? God is jealous of Oprah! Boy if that isn't narsisstic I don't know what is. Oh, and don't forget she also says that there are many different ways to get to God. Well, maybe Echardt Tolle and her should go find it together and leave her philosophical misleading views regarding religion off of her show. By not doing so only shows how ignorant she really is.

I believe that Oprah has done good things for people. I also believe that Oprah eats shit from a dirty floor. Her eyes are so far apart that she looks like a week-old flounder. Fuck this horrible bitch. Fuck her in her oversized ass.

I am a firm believer in the concept of people spending their money the way they want to, besides it's theirs to do what they want with it. I remember when someone came out with a blog dissing Rachel Rae. When people rise to success they attract haters from all over the place. Oprah does tend to cut people off while interviewing them and it is annoying. I heard that she can be a little crude too. But, I respect her and her CHARITABLE works. She started a school for girls in Africa. She can donate or spend her money which ever way she chose, be it here in America or in other countries. The fact is that she did it and that's all that matters. I don't make it a practice to tell people how and where to spend their money. It's out of line and it's no one's place.

CFL's are not green, but create "dirty electricity", an invisible pollutant that is associated with adverse health effects which range from headaches, sleep disorders, skin disease and cancers. The public is not being informed that in addition to the mercury content, CFL's emit RF and UV radiation. Don't confuse tube flourecent light bulbs that have diffusers to mitigate UV, which CFL's that don't have. Medical doctors are aware that CFL's emit radiation and advise their pacemaker patients not use or be exposed to CFL's. See bioinitiative.org for information concerning the biological effects of electromagnetic radition. It is ironic that Gore is an environmentalist, yet is promoting CFL's. When will policy makers listen and learn from the scientists who are not aligned with industry? Congress was ignorant when it passed an energy bill that included a ban on incandescent light bulbs beginning in 2014. (See also Milham/Morgan 2008 study of cancer incidence in California Schools and electromagnetic exposure, and 2008 Venice Resolution at ICEMS.eu).
